Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh voiced on October 17, 2017, Iran's readiness to enter into talks with all oil companies including American ones for developing oil and gas projects.
Zanganeh said President Donald Trump should allow American oil firms to do business in the Islamic Republic.
Reacting to Trump's recent remarks regarding profitability of oil projects for European companies in Iran, Mr. Zangeneh said, «If Mr. Trump is so upset that Europeans may win profits for cooperating with Iran, why does he prevent American companies [to deal with Iran, then]?»
He said it is the US government that has banned American companies from joining in Iran's oil industry, adding: «We have no restrictions for cooperating and negotiating with American companies for developing our oil and gas reserves; we can start talk right from tomorrow if they wish so.»
Zanganeh added: «We have not closed doors» to American companies.
Trump last week refused to re-certify Iran's compliance with the nuclear deal with world powers, and criticized Europeans for their participation in Iran's energy projects.
