Kuwait, 15 March - Neftegaz.RU. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on an official visit to Kuwait, and Emir of Kuwait Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah signed a batch of 10 bilateral documents.
In particular, there was signed a number of intergovernmental Agreements, including a MoU on cooperation between the government of Turkmenistan and the Kuwait Fund for Arab economic development.
In addition, a Memorandum of understanding between the state concern Turkmengaz and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation was sealed by Kuwaiti minister of oil Bkheet Al-Rashidi, along with the Turkmen president's advisor on oil and gas issues Yagshygeldi Kakaev.
It was noted, in particular, that Turkmenistan and Kuwait have the largest hydrocarbon reserves in the world, which is an important factor of mutual interest in cooperation in the development and export of energy resources to international markets.
As the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, «at present, the oil & gas industry of the Turkmenistan implements major projects aimed at diversifying energy exports. Among the strategic projects is the transnational TAPI gaspipeline, which is of great importance for all countries of the region».
