Event celebrating shipment of 1st heat exchanger for Amur GPP held in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, July 23 - Neftegaz.RU. A ceremony celebrating the shipment of the 1st spiral heat exchanger produced in Russia for the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) took place on July 20.

The event was attended by Pavel Krylov, Head of Department of Gazprom, Igor Afanasyev, Director General of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, Christoph Seeholzer, CEO of Linde Power Machines, and John van der Velden, Managing Director of Linde.

The ceremony showcased the oil and gas sector’s most advanced spiral heat exchanger, produced in Russia for the 1st time as part of localization efforts at the Power Machines industrial site.

The spiral heat exchanger was made using domestic parts and materials. Its unique design was developed by Linde. The equipment can withstand temperature fluctuations of up to 400 degrees Celsius and demonstrates enhanced efficiency of heat exchange with much lower metal consumption compared to traditional designs.

The unit, developed for the purpose of preheating and cooling nitrogen-helium mixture, will become a key link in the helium production chain at the Amur GPP.

The spiral heat exchanger will be delivered to the site of the Amur GPP, where core process equipment is currently being assembled. A total of 3 such units will be produced for the GPP.
