According to the Monetary Matters Institute Wealth of Nations Triangle Index, Lebanon ranked 27th among 70 developing countries for 2003.
Region-wise, Lebanon ranked after Israel (4th), Bahrain (19th), Kuwait (21st), and Jordan (24th).
The index measures the countries' potential for balanced and sustainable economic development according to 63 variables covering economic, environmental and information infrastructure indicators.
Lebanon's position improved by 14 places compared to 2002 as the country was among the six countries registering a two-digit improvement over the past year. Lebanon was also ranked ahead of Tunisia (29th), Algeria (43rd), Egypt (45th), and Morocco (48th).
