Saddam Bribe Takers Exposed

Iraqi newspaper Al-Mada published a complete list of Russian companies, political parties and state agencies suspected of taking oil-bribes from former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. According to the newspaper, Russia received contracts for 1.36 billion barrels of oil.

Among the recipients of bribes Al-Mada names the Foreign Ministry (31.1 million barrels), former Chair of the government of the USSR Nikolai Ryzhkov (13 million barrels), administration of Chechen Republic (2 million barrels), Russian Orthodox Church (5 million barrels), Moscow Academy of Sciences (3.5 million barrels), son of the former Ambassador of Iraq to Russia (19.7 million barrels) and Russian Presidential Administration Director (5 million barrels). The names of the Iraqi Ambassador and the Presidential Administration Director were not on the list.

According to Al-Mada, the biggest bribes (174.5 million barrels) were given to Zarabsneft (nothing is known abut existence of this company, probably Zarubezhneft is meant).

-LDPR and personally its leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky - 79.8 million barrels,

-Party of Peace and Unity and personally its leader Sazhi Umalatova - 34 million barrels (On the list of Al-Mada the Party of Peace and Unity is named the party of Vladimir Putin. In autumn 2003, Umalatova became the head of the election bloc In Support of Policy of the President of the Russian Federation.),

-National Democratic Party (Russian National Democratic Party is probably meant) - 2 million barrels,

-CPRF - 1 million barrels,

-Russian Association of Solidarity with Iraq - 12.5 million barrels,

-Russian Committee of Solidarity with the People of Iraq and personally its chair Sergei Rudasev - 6.5 million barrels,

-LUKoil - 63 million barrels,

-Russneft (probably Rosneft is meant) - 35.5 million barrels,

-Gazprom - 26 million barrels,

-Soyuzneftegaz and personally its head Yury Shafranik - 25.5 million barrels,

-Moscow Oil Company - 25.1 million barrels,

-Orenburg Oil Company ONACO - 22.2 million barrels,

-SIDANCO - 21.2 million barrels,

-Uralinvest - 8.5 million barrels,

-Russneft Gazexport (Gazexport subsidiary of Gazprom is probably meant) - 12.5 million barrels,

-Transneft - 9 million barrels,

-Sibneft - 8.1 million barrels,

-Stroyneftegaz - 6 million barrels,

-Nordvest group - 2 million barrels,

-YUKOS - 2 million barrels,

-Mashinoimport - 1 million barrels,

-Slavneft - 1 million barrels,

-Caspian Investment Company (Caspian Oil Company is probably meant) - 1 million barrels,

-Tatneft - 1 million barrels,

-Surgutneft (Surgutneftegaz is probably meant) - 1 million barrels,

-Siberian Oil and Gas Company (East Siberian Oil and Gas Company is probably meant) - 1 million barrels.
