EU Gas Imports to Soar
Countries run out of options as own sources continue to decrease...
By 2030, overall dependence of European Union countries on natural gas import will be about 70%, whereas its own production will start decreasing from 2020, according to Russian government sources.
In addition, by 2030 about 20% of demand of European Union countries will be covered by imports of liquefied gas. Hence the European Union is actively seeking new sources of supply in the radius of 5,000-7,000 kilometers from its borders.
According to the same source, the EU will receive at least one-third of its gas from Russia.
