UAE Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shaikh Hamdan said Thursday that the UAE is interested to meet Japan's oil and gas needs and that the Japanese firms operating in the UAE ?enjoy special status?.
He hoped the Japanese companies would have a bigger share in UAE's in energy and oil projects.
Shaikh Hamdan and Minister of Trade Nakagawa discussed means of boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries as well as encouraging the private sector to actively take part in promoting bilateral ties.
Shaikh Hamdan said the UAE is keen to diversify mutual interests and placed emphasis on the role being played by Japanese firms in UAE's development and oil projects
