Russia?s oil major LUKoil and the government of former Soviet republic Uzbekistan signed a 35-year PSA-agreement on the development of Kandym-Khausak-Shady project jointly with Uzbek oil firm Uzbekneftegaz. The first commercial production of natural gas is expected to begin in 2007.
Annual gas production is expected to peak at about 9 billion cubic meters, while cumulative output may reach 207 bcm.
LUKoil will hold 90 per cent interest, and Uzbekneftegaz will obtain 10 per cent share.
