Charitable Gazprom Closes Eyes To Serbia Debts

Yesterday Russian gas monopoly Gazprom?s CEO Alexei Miller and Serbian Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic have negotiated the possibility of long-term contracts of exporting Russian gas to Serbia.
Under the contract, Russia is to supply gas to Serbia during the current year up to the end of it.
By the way, Serbia has outstanding gas debt, so the two parties were extending the short-term contract.
The Serbian government is now considering the way of settling the debts for Russian gas supplies, Dinkic said.
In 2003, Gazprom supplied to Serbia 1.873 billion cubic meters of gas. This year, it plans to increase the supplies to 2-2.1 billion cubic meters.
