US oil and gas major ExxonMobil announced Wednesday that its subsidiary in Angola, Esso Exploration Angola, has launched producing oil from Kizomba A project offshore West Africa.
The project, the largest deepwater oil development in the region, is expected to produce about 250,000 barrels per day and has an estimated capacity of up to 1 billion barrels.
Exxon Mobil and its co-explorers have announced 38 discoveries offshore of Angola, 17 of which are of a world-class development with the potential to recover a total of about 4.5 billion barrels of oil.
