Multi-bln-dollar Project of Dolphin Energy

Dolphin is building a multi-bln-dollar regional network to export gas

Multi-bln-dollar Project of Dolphin Energy

Dolphin Energy Limited, a joint venture between Total, Occidental Petroleum Corp and Offset Group of OAE; is going to sell natural gas to the southern Gulf emirate of Ras al-Khaimah starting from March 2005.

Around 40 mln cubic feet of natural gas -- initially from Oman -- is be supplied daily through to the end of July 2007, after Qatari gas comes online, the company said in a statement.

Dolphin is building a multi-bln-dollar regional network to export gas via a submerged pipeline from Qatar, which has the world's third-largest gas reserves, to Abu Dhabi, and then on to Dubai, Oman and eventually Pakistan.

The project is expected to come into play in 2006.
