Russian ?British oil merger TNK-BP plans to cooperate with domestic oil giant LUKoil and state-run Rosneft to develop Siberian oil and gas fields, where TNK-BP bought 4 exploration units.
TNK-BP bought these units from Russian oil company Slavneft that hold licenses to fields with 830 million barrels of oil and 117 billion cubic meters of gas reserves in the Bolshekhetskaya deposits. Slavneft is equally owned by TNK-BP and Sibneft.
Commercial development of the fields should begin in 2008 with gross peak production reaching" 250,000 barrels per day.
TNK-BP is in talks with Sibneft on splitting Slavneft. The partners have agreed to split fuel filling stations and run refineries jointly. They still need to agree on how to divide up Slavneft's oil fields, and that may take until the first half of 2005, TNK-BP's chief operating officer, Alexander Korsik, said in July.
