Terra Nova Returned To Life

Canadian oil firm Petro-Canada has started up process on the Terra Nova Floating Production, Storage and Offloading platform today after a shutdown since November 21, 2004 caused by a discharge of oily water from the platform.

After the approval to resume production Petro-Canada intends to restore production to pre-shutdown levels of 160,000 barrels per day over the next few days.
The Terra Nova shutdown impact in the fourth quarter is expected to be in the range of 16,000 to 20,000 barrels per day. This is expected to have an earnings impact in the range of $0.15 to $0.20 per share for the fourth quarter of 2004.
