Statoil Given Green Light
Statoil ASA has received an approval from safety authorities to resume partial production
Statoil ASA has received an approval from safety authorities to resume partial production from two offshore Snorre A and Vigdis fields, restoring about 100,000 barrels per day of crude flows. The fileds have been shut down since a Nov. 28 natural gas leak in a production well.
The lost production accounts for about 6.5 percent of the 3.2 million barrel per day capacity that makes the Nordic country the world's third-largest oil exporter after Saudi Arabia and Russia. Statoil didn't give an expected start date.
