Russian and Macedonian governments signed an agreement under which $15 million of the Russia?s debt will be paid off with the construction of a natural gas pipeline ring around Skopje.
The pipeline will be constructed by Russian company Rosneftegazstroy and Macedonian company Gama.
The project is believed to be a priority project for the government.
Rosneftegazstroy?s vice-president Vassiliy Medvedenko said the ring around Skopje was of strategic importance for Macedonian officials, considering the perspectives for further transport of gas via Macedonia to Albania and Greece.
