Lukoil Overseas is interested in Iran as a prospective oil exploration region, Vladimir Simakov, the oresident of the company, said.
"We regard the Near East and the Persian Gulf as our company?s zone of heightened interest. LUKoil holds twenty-five per cent of the shares in the Anaran geological prospecting project in Iran, operated by the Norwegian Hydra Company," he said.
