Indonesia's state-owned oil company Pertamina is to purchase six tanker ships next year in a bid to improve its oil distribution ability.

Pertamina?s director of marketing and commerce Sumarno said "Next year we plan to buy six units with cost of $70 million?.

He added that the company must add its tanker ships next year to meet with the international standard as oil distribution grows by 5 percent annually.

He said that the plan to add tanker ships is also part of the rejuvenation efforts for the current 135 unit tanker ships owned by the company.
