More and more global energy majors are getting interested in exploring oil and gas fields in India, the country's Petroleum Minister Murli Deora said here on Tuesday.
"For the first time all major oil companies including Chevron and ExxonMobil have expressed their interest in acquiring data packages of India's sedimentary basins," Indo-Asian News Service quoted Deora as saying.
In fact, some global majors are already in the country to study investment opportunities including green-field refinery projects, said Indian Petroleum Secretary M.S. Srinivasan.
