Norway Wants Domestic Oil Firms to Invest In India

Norway said it would encourage its oil and gas companies to invest in India, making use of the opportunity being available in respect of 65 exploration blocks.

The assurance was given at a meeting Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora had with his Norwegian counterpart Odd Roger Enoksen on the sidelines of the three-day ''Ministerial Conference: International Energy Forum (IEF)'' being held at Doha, Qatar.

Howeber, Italian energy firm ENI also expressed keen interest in participating in the Indian hydrocarbon sector. The two companies have attended the roadshows held by India to promote NELP-VI and CBM-III.
