BP was forced to close one of the largest oilfields in Alaska because of a strong corrosion to transit pipes and oil leak.
The shutdown of the Prudhoe Bay oil field, which produces about 8% of US daily oil output, caused BP's oil output decline in 400, 000 bpd.

BP shares were down 1.5% at 626 pence in early trading in London.
