BP Seeks Ways Not to Shut Prudhoe Bay
BP representative Daren Beaudo said on Tuesday it was exploring using other pipelines
BP is studying ways to avoid a complete shutdown of the largest US oilfields Prudhoe Bay, which is currently closed because of oil leak and pipes corrosion.
BP representative Daren Beaudo said on Tuesday it was exploring using other pipelines to bypass the oil transit pipelines it is shutting down.
"We are having dialogue (with federal and state regulators) to determine if there is an assurable safe method for maintaining some level of production," said Daren Beaudo.
BP does not intend to continue production from Prudhoe Bay without receiving support for its pipeline plans from state and federal regulators and a complete shutdown is still being planned, Beaudo added.
"We are having dialogue (with federal and state regulators) to determine if there is an assurable safe method for maintaining some level of production," said Daren Beaudo.
