Argentina and Bolivia will sign a deal in September for the construction of a pipeline to increase natural gas deliveries to Argentina, the country's Planning Minister Julio De Vido said Wednesday.
The construction of a 1,200-kilometer (744-mile) pipeline with a capacity of 20 million cubic meters/day will cost $2.5 billion.
The project will make it possible to increase gas exports from Bolivia to Argentina to a maximum of 27.7 million cu m/d, up from a current 7.7 million, helping alleviate a tight supply of energy that is threatening to slow the Argentine economy.
