Pakistani Sell Air Instead of Natural Gas

Pakistan's compressed gas filling stations in Rawalpindi and Islamabad are selling substandard gas to customers.

According to a survey conducted by the Daily Times, the stations' vendors have bribed officials of the monitoring teams and are openly selling substandard gas.

Customers have alleged most of the stations in the twin cities were filling extra air instead of the pure gas. The absence of any instrument to check the quality of gas has only made matters worse, they said.

Jamil Abbasi, a customer said, CNG filling stations were overcharging by mixing air with gas, blatantly violating rules set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.
