Petrochina Discovered Gas Field in Xinjiang
The discovery of the new reserve will ensure sufficient fuel supply to the eastern regions in China
PetroChina Corp said it had discovered 130 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserve in Xinjiang Urumqi Autonomous Region, a province in Northwestern China, according to China News Service.
The company has started drilling the No.3 Dabei Well in Baicheng County in November 2005 and is capable of producing 286,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
The discovery of the new reserve will ensure sufficient fuel supply to the eastern regions in China, as facilitated by the West East Gas Pipeline.
