Apache Energy believes it will be several months before it can get its Veranus island gas plant on-line.
Three days ago Veranus Island, off the coast of Karratha in Western Australia's Pilbara, was consumed by a ball of flames.
Today blackened beach and twisted pipe is all that remains of the explosion which has rocked WA.
Some of WA's biggest companies have been forced to shut down their operations, while Alinta wants householders to reduce hot showers.
The company at the centre of the incident, Apache Energy, has a team of engineers working to repair the damage, but says it could take months to source the infrastructure it needs.
The Premier Alan Carpenter says residential gas supplies will not be affected at this stage.
