At the meeting in Saudi Arabia, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called for a "new deal" on global energy supplies to benefit both consumers and producers, BBC reports.
He also called for "enhanced co-operation" between governments to reduce the global economy's dependence on oil.
Norwegian State Secretary Liv Monica Stubholtsays the high prices on oil and food may lead to a humanitarian catastrophe in poorer nations.
