StatoilHydro has awarded Aker Solutions the contract to perform topside modifications for tie-in of the M-template to the Norne FPSO, the Norne M project.
The contract is a EPCI contract worth approximately NOK 50 million, scheduled for project completion November 2009.
A new subsea template will be installed in the south sector of the Norne reservoir to increase production. The template will be connected both to the existing subsea infrastructure and to the Norne platform through a dedicated flowline and production riser. Aker Solutions is awarded the contract for execution of all topside modification work at the Norne to facilitate tie-in of the new production riser.
Design and procurement work will start immediately, and fabrication work is planned to start January 2009. Offshore installation activities will start early 2009 with project completion and start-up in November 2009. All project activities will be executed by the Aker Solutions regional office in Trondheim, Norway.
The Norne FPSO is one of the platforms included in the long term maintenance and modification contract with StatoilHydro in the Halten-Nordland area. Maintenance and modification services are one of the core competencies of Aker Solutions, and is a key strategic area for the company in the North Sea and internationally. Aker Solutions hold the maintenance and modification contract at the Halten-Nordland area with Aker Reinertsen, a joint company with Reinertsen Engineering in Trondheim, Norway.
