Kazakhstan has raised the rate of oil export duty

A decree, announcing the new figure, was published in the
official newspaper Kazakhstanskaya Pravda.
The increase will take effect 30 days after the decree is
published, the government said.

Central Asia's largest oil producer introduced the levy in
May and has said it would be reviewed quarterly.
Kazakhstan plans to produce up to 70 million tonnes (500
million barrels) of crude this year.

Large foreign companies working in Kazakhstan under
production sharing agreements are exempt from the duty,
Reuters reported
