Turkmen to Start Up a New Energy Corridor to Europe

"Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey have huge potential for cooperation, and this moment in time dictates the necessity for us to fully activate it," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov said.

Europe and the U.S. are pushing for Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to put aside a territorial dispute in the Caspian and build a sub-sea gas pipeline connecting the two countries. That link could feed into the planned 3,000-kilometeter Nabucco pipeline from Turkey to Austria, The Moscow Times reported.
