Bolivia Assesses Gas to Argentina

The Bolivian government announced on Wednesday that a bilateral technical commission will assess current gas supply to Argentina

Bolivia Assesses Gas to Argentina

Upon his return to Buenos Aires, Hydrocarbon Minister Saul Avalos said in a press conference the deliberations will begin on December 1 to agree upon the term, volume, and payment commitments.

Bolivia currently exports nearly 1.7 million cubic meters of gas daily to Argentina, but it is trying to redefine the terms of the contract in force, which establishes that 7.7 million cubic meters should have been supplied this year, with projected supplies of 16.6 million cubic meters in 2009 and 27.7 million cubic meters in 2010.

Avalos pointed out that his country would only promise what it would be able to accomplish, and stressed that gas for Argentina would be sent after supplying the internal and Brazilian markets.
