Slovakia Considers Other Gas Sources Than Russia

"We are curently assessing the technical feasibility of deliveries of a total of eight to 10 million cubic meters a day from storages of E.ON at the Czech-German border, Gaz de France, OMV, or storages in Poland," Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnatek told Czech radio.

The Slovak gas company SPP, whose pipeline also carries 20 percent of the European Union's annual gas consumption, is delivering gas from its storages to households, hospitals and schools. It cut supplies to large customers on Wednesday, forcing major companies to reduce production.
