Norwegian oil and gas producer StatoilHydro closed one of its gas fields in the beginning of January due to a lifeboat problem. A possible start-up time is still unclear
StatoilHydro's spokesman Geir Gjervan told the reporters that the company still had to do some more tests and verification of the work we have done over the last week on the platform's lifeboat system.
Gjervan declined to comment on the timing of the restart.
On Jan. 8, StatoilHydro said it had temporarily stopped production at Kristin, which has been producing around 10 million cubic metres of gas per day and around 10,000 cubic metres of condensate per day.
Its capacity is 125,000 barrels of condensate and 18 million cubic metres of rich gas per day.
The company said a defect was found in the release mechanisms of lifeboats of the same type on the Veslefrikk B platform in the North Sea, which led to the Kristin shutdown.
