South Ossetia To Receive Gas Soon

RBC reported yesterday quoting Georgia's Deputy Energy Minister Nino Enukidze, that the Georgian government had issued special permission for the gas distribution company Itera to operate in South Ossetia.

In accordance with the European Union and the OSCE's requests, Itera-Georgia was permitted to supply natural gas to the occupied territory, including the Tskhinvali region, on January 20, Enukidze stated.

The deputy minister also noted that Georgia had completed repair work on the main backbone pipeline, thus ensuring unhindered supplies to the region.
