A Legal Case Opened Against Naftogaz
Ukraine's Security Service opened a legal case into the diversion of some 6 bln. cubic meters of RosUkrEnergo's gas worth roughly $1 bln by executives of Naftogaz of Ukraine, RBC reportes
The first deputy head of the national service Valery Khoroshkovsky was the newsmaker.
Proceedings were initiated on March 2, with the top officials at Naftogaz of Ukraine suspected of abuse of office and conspiracy to seize the gas.
According to Khoroshkovsky, Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine exchanged several $1.7bn payments between January 21 and February 5, including for the purchase of Ukrainian gas that was not to be found in gas storages.
