PEMEX Awarded Two Contracts

The exploration and production subsidiary of Mexican state oil company PEMEX has awarded four contracts for four independent leg cantilever jackups to be used in the Litoral Tabasco area of the Gulf of Mexico

PEMEX Awarded Two Contracts

One contract was awarded for $124.8 million to joint proposal from Blackstone Gerencia and Rowandrill for jackup Rowan Gorilla IV. The 785-day contract to drill in waters of up to 106.7 m begins on April 30.

A $109.6 million contract went to a joint proposal from Servicios Outsourcing and First Drill Ltd for SeaWolf jackup Delta Queen. The 776-day contract for a jackup able to drill in waters of up to 76.2 m will begin Aug. 3.

Ensco Drilling Mexico, a subsidiary of Ensco International, won two contracts for jackups able to operate in up to 76.2 m of water. The contracts totaled $257.6 million. Ensco has six jackups beginning contracts with PEMEX in 2009.
