European gas demand has recover leading by British consumption

Europe and Russia have significantly increased their gas demands over the past four months, Russian gas giant Gazprom CEO said on Tuesday. "It is completely clear now that Russia and Europe have significantly increased their gas demands," Alexei Miller said. "In the first four months of 2010, the Russian internal market demonstrated steady growth. Volumes [of deliveries] reached 103% of 2008 pre-crisis levels. In several far-away foreign countries the growth in Gazprom deliveries has surpassed 40%."

He said the best dynamic of Gazprom exports could be seen in Britain, which is one of the target countries of the company's planned North Stream gas pipeline, which will link Russia and the European Union via the Baltic Sea. "Deliveries to Britain have increase by almost 50%. This is a serious confirmation of our plans to exceed pre-crisis extraction volumes by 2013 and create new export corridors," Miller said.
