Iran intends to activate its relations with Azerbaijan in the gas sector, 1news.az has reported. "Iran is not yet looking at exporting its gas to Europe. We are now working on other projects", the head of the Iranian Gas Corporation, Rez Kasaeizadeh said. According to the Iranian news agency Mehr, Kasaeizadeh said Iran is now emphasizing relations with neighbouring countries and noted relations with Azerbaijan would soon be stepped up in the gas segment.
Kasaeizadeh also noted Iran currently exports its gas to Turkey, Pakistan and Armenia. Negotions are also under way with Kuwait, Iraq, India, Bahrain, China, Australia and Italy.
