TNK-BP plans to modernize its Linik refinery in Ukraine and increase its export of oil products from the country, since the facility's capacity exceeds local demand, TNK-BP Commerce President Sergey Lizunov said. "We do not think the market is limited. The most effective way from the point of view of logistics is to Black Sea ports. At the same time, we want to increase our share of the domestic market to 30 per cent and retain growth. The Ukrainian market demonstrated growth of about 2 to 2.5 percent before the crisis. By retaining our share, we will increase volume in absolute terms", he said.
Lizunov said that the Linik refinery could achieve Euro-4 standard gasoline and diesel fuel output by 2011. "The next step in modernizing the refinery is increase the output of light products and reduce the output of fuel oil. We are now determining which technological processes to implement. This decision should be made by the end of autumn this year. I mean a choice between coking and visbreaking", Lizunov explained.
