China plans to build three large-scale emergency tanks for oil spill in the eastern coastal area, a facility to cope with oil spill as what happened in Dalian port, an official with the Ministry of Transport was quoted as saying by the Economic Observer.
The three tanks will be erected in Dalian, Ningbo and Guangzhou respectively, each able to deal with 10 million metric tons (tonnes) of oil spill. Meanwhile, China plans to build six mid-sized tanks with each able to handle five million tonnes of oil spill and seven small ones each to handle two million tonnes of oil spill.
