World Oil Prices Rise Despite Negative U.S. Outlook

The price of oil on world commodity exchanges was growing Wednesday morning despite weak statistics reported on the U.S. economic recovery in the second quarter.
The price of a September futures contract for WTI light sweet crude in electronic trading on Nymex was up 5 cents to $80.30 a barrel by 7:10 Moscow time. The price of a September futures contract for North Sea Brent blend has risen 1 cent to $79.61 in London.
Oil prices receded the day before on news the U.S. Federal Reserve had decided to leave its rate unchanged. September WTI contracts were off $1.23 to $80.25 a barrel, while September Brent contracts dropped $1.39 to $79.60.
