Petrofac wins $600 mln Oman deal

Petrofac reported on January 9, 2017, that the company has been awarded a $600 mln (€569 mln) contract for an extraction project in southern Oman.

The deal will see Petrofac undertake the engineering, procurement and construction of the Salalah project, which is being run by the Oman Oil Facilities Development Company.

The contract will run for 3 years during which Petrofac will be responsible for the provision of a liquefied petroleum unit as well as pipleline infrastructure. «This contract is our 11th in the Sultanate and reinforces our commitment to Oman where we have been present since 1988,» said Marwan Chedid, Petrofac Group Chief Operating Officer.

«This project will further support our commitment to increase in-country value. We will continue to maintain strong focus on this aspect of our delivery, particularly by engaging the local supply chain and recruiting local resources. We are very much looking forward to growing and strengthening our team working alongside OOFDC to deliver this project,» Mr Chedid added.
