Energoholding plans to put into operation the 200 MW Pancevo gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Serbia in March, the
Serbia´s energy ministry said on Tuesday, SeeNews has reported.
Zorana Mihajlovic, Serbian Minister Of Mining & Energy, said in a statement:
- In March, when the trial work is over, we will have the official commissioning of Pancevo CHP

This facility is important for cogeneration, efficiency in production and environmental protection, but also for greater energy security
Gazprom Energoholding has invested about 170 million euro ($193 million) in the construction of the power plant which will have 120 employees, Mihajlovic said during a visit to Pancevo.
Gazprom Energoholding Serbia director Aleksandar Varnavski said in the statement:
- Preparations are now underway for commissioning and Serbia will soon have a new power plant, which will enable the improvement of the electricity situation in Serbia and significantly affect the air quality in Pancevo
Serbian oil & gas group
NIS, in which Gazprom holds a 56.15% stake, signed an agreement for the construction of the CHP plant in
Pancevo with Shanghai Electric Group in November 2018.
