Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern on October 14, 2016, in Vienna received President of LUKOIL Vagit Alekperov.
The parties discussed the development of the Company's business for production and distribution of high-quality lubricants as well as investment cooperation.
In the end of April of 2016 Lukoil brought into operation by Vienna a bulk lubricant storage and transfer terminal.
The construction of the terminal on the Danube includes a tank farm and a mooring complex has become the second stage of the upgrade of the Austrian lubricant blending facility of Lukoil Lubricants Europe, which was acquired in 2014. This terminal optimised the logistics of base oil supplies from Russia and enhanced the competitiveness of Lukoil’s end products in Europe.
Lukoil owns a motor and industrial oil blending plant in Austria with total capacity of up to 80,000 tons of lubricants per year. The facility has obtained the highest category of certification, VDA 6.3, from the German Association of the Automotive Industry which allowed it to become one of the top 5 European suppliers of lubricants for German car manufacturers.
«Lukoil started dynamic development of its lubricants business since its foundation. As a result, Lukoil has expanded its product portfolio from 30 GOST-certified oils to over 700 products with many of them outperforming well known imported analogues. With these premium oils, we are actively entering other markets. 10 years ago, Lukoil supplied its products to Russian equipment manufacturers only. As of today, the Company provides the first and service fill lubricants to over 20 foreign automotive OEMs, including Ford, GM, Renault and MAN, » said Maksim Donde, General Director of Lukoil Lubricants Company.
