Gazpromneft Bitumen Materials’ - operator of the Gazprom Neft bitumens business - sales of high-technology bitumen binders (modified and bitumen-derived products) increased 40 % in 2017, to 149,000 tonnes, the company reported on March 5, 2018.
Total sales volumes of bitumens and cokes reached 2.5 million tonnes, an increase of more than 20 % year-on-year.
Gazpromneft Bitumen Materials strengthened its position in new sectors of the high-technology bitumens market, with innovative products under the BRIT brand - including road, bridge and aerodrome mastics, sealants, emulsions, bitumen bridging tapes, and protective and remedial coverings - being used in the construction of high-wear resistant road and aerodrome coverings, including in inaccessible locations and those with challenging and rugged terrains.
The company saw a significant expansion in its client portfolio in 2017, increasing the geographic range of its deliveries and commencing shipments of high-technology bitumens into new regions including the Yuzhny, Privolzhsky and Uralsky Federal Okrugs, the Khabarovsky Krai and Zabaikalsky Krai, the Penza, Kirovskaya and Irkutskaya Oblasts, the Chuvash Republic, the Mari El Republic and the Republic of Bashkortastan, and in Buryatia, Tuva, and Komi.
The company proactively engages its R&D Centre in developing optimum formulations for its bitumen binders, in line with the specific climatic and usage conditions of each region. Also, as part of its cooperation with regions, Gazpromneft Bitumen Materials is supporting the monitoring and oversight of road construction works, monitoring of quality of materials used.
