TANECO on March 6, 2018, received the conclusion of the Privolzhsky Administration of Rostekhnadzor on the compliance of the combined naphtha isomerization unit and the naphtha splitter section with the requirements of technical regulations and design documentation. They started the production of the isomerate product at the TANECO oil refining complex of Tatneft, which is a high-octane component of automotive gasoline grades with improved environmental properties.
The document confirms that the combined light naphtha isomerization unit and the naphtha splitter section comply with the requirements of technical regulations and other regulatory legal acts and project documentation, including energy efficiency requirements and compliance of capital equipment construction requirements in terms of devices for recording the used energy resources.
On January 25, 2018, Vladimir Putin and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, in a video communication format, gave the command to commission 2 new TANECO’s production facilities aimed at increasing the in-depth refining ratio of oil, namely, the naphtha hydrotreatment and the naphtha isomerization units.
During the facilities launch ceremony, Nail Maganov, Gen. Director of Tatneft, pointed out that the project was implemented jointly with Russian designers and machine builders, with application of new domestic refining technologies at the startup plants, including the supply of the equipment in the shape of ready-made technological large blocks.
The new product is produced at the light naphtha isomerization unit, designed for processing 420,000 tonnes of pentane-hexane fraction per year. The production facility meets all modern requirements of environmental and industrial safety.
The high-octane component of commercial gasoline is produced under the domestic technology Izomalk-2, developed by Neftekhim (Krasnodar). The use of an effective low-temperature platinum-containing catalyst makes it possible to obtain isomerate with a high octane number.
The isomerization process is one of the most cost-effective ways of obtaining the component for high-octane gasoline grades with improved environmental properties. This product is characterized by the absence of benzene, aromatic hydrocarbons and sulfur compounds.
Production of isomerate this is a major step in the development of the Tatneft’s Oil Refining Complex, which is of strategic importance for the implementation of a large-scale program for the production of high-octane motor gasoline grades.
