Teheran, October 17 - Neftegaz.RU. Iranian Deputy Governor of Mazandaran province for Economic Affairs Hassan Kheirianpour said that Chinese companies have voiced readiness to do investment and construct oil refinery in the north of Iran. 

 

Chinese companies are ready to invest $2 billion in construction of the oil refinery in Mazandaran Province. Kheirianpour said this in a meeting with the economic envoy from Jiangxi Province in China.

 

Iran and China enjoy good relations in terms of politics and economy and such relations could be promoted in both sides' provinces, he said.

 

Chinese envoy, for his part said Iran is regarded as China strategic economic partner as grounds for investment in construction of the rail tracks, wastage and oil refinery is well prepared. Chinese 7-member delegation arrived in Mazandaran to examine expansion of economic cooperation between the 2 sides. 

 

The Chinese investment in Iran reportedly soared in the past 4 years. Chinese companies had $2.3 billion of direct investment in Iran from 2014 to 2018 while investments from 1996 to 2014 were just $110 million, an Iranian official told the publication during a China-Iran trade conference in Teheran in January 2018.
