In January 2022 Russia’s NPPs increased electricity production by 3.4%

Moscow, February 3 - Neftegaz.RU. In the 1^st month of 2022 nuclear power plants (NPPs) of Russia (branches of Rosenergoatom) increased electricity production by 3.37% as compared to the similar period of the preceding year.

In January, generation was more than 20 bln kWh or 103.81% of the target of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS).
Thus, 733.87 mln kWh were generated in excess of the FAS target over this time.

In the said period all Russia’s NPPs operated preventing releases of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere in the amount of over 10 million tons in CO₂ equivalent.

It is worth mentioning that the NPPs of Russia finished 2020 with the absolute record for the mere existence of the Russian nuclear power, which was achieved only in 1988, in the Soviet Union times.
