Blast on China's Coal Mine Killed at Least 105

The number of people killed in a gas explosion at a coal mine in northern China reached 105 on Friday, state-run media reported.

Rescue workers found an additional 26 bodies on Friday morning, following the explosion which took place late Wednesday, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Fifteen workers of at least 120 being inside the mine were rescued or had managed to escape on their own, Xinhua reported.

Government figures say 3,069 miners were killed in the first 10 months of this year in China's mines, which have the worst safety record in the world.
