Moscow, February 19 - Neftegaz.RU. A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Davaa Dulamsuren, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation, took place on February 18 in Russia.

The parties discussed issues related to the potential implementation of the project for pipeline gas supplies from Russia to China across Mongolia. Among the topics discussed was the establishment of a joint working group to elaborate the project.

On November 4, 2019, Gazprom Export delivered the first batch of Russian LNG to Mongolia to be used as a vehicle fuel in municipal transport in the country's capital city, Ulan-Bator.

The total size of the cargo was 36.0 tons of LNG (equivalent to approx. 50,000 cm of natural gas). Siberian fuel and energy company (SITEK) was the shipper of the cargo. The buyer was the Mongolian company UB Metan.

In total, according to the buyer, the demand for LNG in Mongolia in 2020 can reach 8,000 tons (equivalent to 11 mcm of natural gas).

On December 5, 2019, Gazprom and the Government of Mongolia signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document provides for a joint assessment of the feasibility of pipeline gas supplies from Russia to China across Mongolia.
