Minsk, February 22 - Neftegaz.RU. The Belarusian Energy Ministry expects that the document to specify the natural gas price for 2020 and consequent years will be signed by 1 July, BelTA learned from Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich before a session of the ministry's board on 22 February.
The official said: «The negotiations are in progress at the level of the relevant ministries and deputy prime ministers. In line with the signed agreements the document [on the natural gas price Belarus will pay as from 2020] has to be worked out and signed by 1 July 2019. The timeframe is set. We should take exhaustive measures to complete this work within the specified timeframe.»
The date for the next meeting to discuss natural gas deliveries has not been determined yet. «I cannot talk about it but more efforts will be put into it as from March,» the energy minister added.
In line with the previously reached agreements by 1 July 2019 the sides are supposed to come to terms on the price for Russian gas Belarus will pay in 2020-2024.
In discussions about the matter Belarus speaks in favor of enabling equal conditions for commercial entities in Belarus and Russia. In 2019 the price for gas Belarus buys stands at $127 per 1,000 m3.
